Fitness, Self Defence, Discipline, Make Friends, Confidence, Be Like Bruce Lee
Martial arts are a massive all over body workout, which helps various parts of your fitness. It’s a great cardio workout – you will burn a great deal calories every time you train. It will also boost your agility, as you are taught, slowly, to be faster and faster in training. You will also get powerful, and will see improvements in your durability and explosive power. Have we missed anything? There are very few kinds of training that are so complete.
The most common cause to learn martial arts is to learn the skills to safeguard yourself. Every martial art you could perhaps learn will teach you this. Every master will have a judgment on which is the best for defence. Don’t tell them we told you this, but it really doesn’t matter which one you learn! Any martial artist has an instant superiority over any would-be attacker. They will all teach you how to protect yourself, and they all have all the other interests indicated in this blog.
Martial arts teach you control even if you start at 6yrs old or 60. You will observe most children who start martial arts, later, are calmer and more respectful to those around them. Having a place to burn off that extra energy definitely helps, but this is mainly because respect to others around you is taught in each art. Also, the commitment to learn a complicated skill centers the mind, teaching you how to learn.
There is nothing like (carefully) beating people up every week to make friends and form a feeling of community! You get very up close and personal with your colleagues, and you can’t help but make friends with them. Plus, the more you get in to martial arts, the more your colleagues are the only people you know who honestly understand why you dedicate yourself to it.
Meaning that you can look after yourself, having a considerable level of fitness, and encountering the feeling of breaking boards and doing spinning kicks – all these increase your trust. This can help timid people, children and adults alike, obtain a feeling of self worth and bring them out of their armour.
